BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES: DESCRIPTION: Tongkat Ali is small tree that has been so popular as a traditional aphrodisiac in Malaysia that the over harvesting has placed it in danger of being extinct and is now on Malaysian "protected plant" list. It can be found in South East Asia's rainforest such as Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. For centuries it has been used as an aphrodisiac and relief for a variety of ailments from post partum to antimalarial, antiulcer, antipyretic, cytotoxic, aphrodisiac properties, intestinal worms as well as Malarial parasites. Today it is popular for it's aphrodisiac properties for both men and women. At the time of this writing there have not been any studies with humans however there are promising studies done with castrated rats. The focus is towards improved desire and sexual initiation. Other areas being researched are anti-cancer, thermogenic/energy, fertility and more. |

CONSTITUENTS: Quassinoids - eurycomanone, eurycomanol, eurycomalactone; various canthine-6-one alkaloids . WARNINGS: None found at the time of this writing other than possible toxicity of quassinoids. Please use with caution. RECOMMENDED APPLICATION: Curing it in brandy or congac for a minimum period of two weeks before beginning consumption. 20 grams would be suitable for a litre of brandy or congac. Recommended consumption dosage is a peg or two of the brandy or congac per week in warm countries & double the dosage in cooler countries. Results would be realized in about two weeks with weekly consumption. These are WILD Tongkat Ali. They are not cultivated specimens. Supplies are limited. |
